She and her husband of forty-three years, Clyde Jr., live in Grafton, West Virginia. They are the parents of one daughter and have two grandchildren. They are active members of the Beulah Baptist Church. Mary has delivered the Children's Sermons in church for over twenty years and taught Sunday School for over forty years. A few years ago, the Lord gave her the idea of creating Miss Polly and her humorous messages, which have been very well received by both the children and adults.
