Chloe's life hasn't been easy. At 17, she has been abandoned again by her parents in a foreign country, with no money, electricity, or food. Her only hope is a single plane ticket to California and to an aunt she has never met. With no other choice, she boards the plane, sick, hungry, and not sure of her future. But to her surprise, her aunt meets her at the airport and moves Chloe into a beachfront cottage. Chloe begins to heal physically, but the past is hard to overcome. A mysterious campfire and a chance run-in on the beach brings her to meeting a group of friends that help her confront her past and move forward to a better future. However, when High School starts, the campfire friends leave, and bullying and secrets will send her spiraling again. This time, no one knows if she is strong enough to survive.
