I am more closely associated with alkaline ionized water, spirulina, and chlorella than any other health professional, health guru, author, or natural health practitioner. In the 1990s, these two superfoods were scarcely known by natural health fanatics like me, let alone the average person. The species of these two algae that I speak of in this book are spirulina platensis and chlorella sorokiniana (formally known as pyrenoidosa). I have never missed eating spirulina and/or chlorella every single day since first trying them back in 1995. I consume an average of 15 grams (60 tablets) daily, spread throughout the day. I always take a small handful with every meal. I have worked persistently through the years to introduce these superfoods to the public. Success comes when others teach people what I taught them and the word about them is spread like seeds that will sprout and grow even more. Once you have tried spirulina or chlorella, you immediately feel their positive health effects. Public awareness is increasing that spirulina and chlorella are the solutions to many of the world's health and ecological problems. The most powerful foods on earth are spirulina platensis and chlorella sorokinina. They complement one another in many ways because they are completely different foods with different nutrients. Spirulina is an extremely pure food, a cyanobacteria that is 95% digestible, high in vitamin B-complex, iron, calcium and essential fatty acids such as gamma linolenic acid (GLA), which is essential for brain function, bones, reproductive health, and metabolism. It stimulates skin and hair growth and helps address rheumatoid arthritis. It also helps balance omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Spirulina is an excellent food to consume before a workout because of the explosive energy it provides to the body. It also helps balance omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Chlorella has remarkable anti-cancer properties. Its unique fiber is great for digestion, as well as heavy metal and synthetic toxin removal. It has large amounts of nucleic acids (RNA), which, along with amino acids (protein), are the building blocks of our cells. Chlorella can even be used topically on cuts, scrapes, infections, even serious wounds, as can spirulina. If you want to achieve great health, add these superfoods to your diet. Start slowly, gradually increasing them until you reach a dosage of at least eight grams of each of them daily. You can never consume too much spirulina and chlorella. As you increase your dosage, gradually reduce your protein intake from traditional sources, such as meat, fish, eggs, soy and dairy products, since spirulina and chlorella are vastly superior food sources to animal protein. Most vegans and vegetarians lack sufficient protein in their diet. Spirulina and chlorella are the best replacement for animal protein because of their high protein content. Therefore, they should be consumed with every meal. They are the highest percentage of any food with 18 different amino acids in a balanced ratio to one another. Protein must be consumed with every meal for proper digestion and nutrient absorption. They are the ultimate healthy fast food. Achieving great health is nearly impossible without including these two powerful superfoods in your diet. I grew up on a junk-food diet in the 1960s. I never considered then that what went into my body was of any importance until I started running cross country and track in high school. By my early 20s, I was a vegetarian but had only given up meat since I still ate eggs and dairy products. I went into the bottled water business 30 years ago. I knew from the beginning that I had a health product. Shortly after that, I discovered alkaline ionized water, Spirulina and chlorella, the raw food diet, and how to be truly healthy. I decided I wanted a more formal education about natural health, so I became a Certified Nutritional Consultant. A few years later, I became a Certified Master Herbalist and eventually a Naturopathic Doctor. However, the vast majority of what I know about health is what I have experienced personally. The water I drink, the foods that I consume, my exercise regimen, and how it all makes me feel. My health protocol is my lifestyle, and my lifestyle is my health protocol.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
