A story of Christmas miracles! "What a great Christmas story! I purchased this book to add to my Christmas story collection. I couldn't have chosen a more perfect book! The story is heartwarming and the illustrations (also by the author) are a perfect match! I love it!" - Cute Christmas fun! - Fun book for those who love Christmas [and]...cuddly dogs! "Christmastime for Sawyer" is a story of empathy and kindness about an Old English Sheepdog named Sawyer who is experiencing his first Christmas. As Sawyer struggles to understand what Christmas means, he ends up on an accidental adventure that lands him in the animal shelter on Christmas Eve. While there, he befriends a homeless dachshund named Tonks, whose story helps open Sawyer’s eyes to the world around him and the true spirit of the season. Gifts come in all shapes and sizes. And this holiday season one of them arrives in the shape of Sawyer, the Old English Sheepdog. This book has been a long journey for me. I wrote the story during the 2014 holiday season and worked on refining the story and creating the pictures over the course of the last 8 years. Last summer, 2022, I decided I was ready to share Sawyer with the world so I put the pedal to the metal in order for him to make his debut this holiday season, 2022. I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate the following people as they helped me on my journey to share Sawyer and my love of Old English Sheepdogs with the world:   My wonderful husband Eric Veile, who endured several rewrites and a bit of consternation as I deliberated over the details of the art work. I am a classically trained cellist; art is my hobby :-) - Our Old English Sheepdogs Sawyer, Wordsworth and Alfred, who over their lives have given me much inspiration and brought me much happiness. - My parents, who supported my wild ambitions of becoming a published author as I begin my nineteenth year of teaching. - My awesome art teacher friends:  Stephanie Coen, Danielle Snow and Melanie Walsh. I was incredibly nervous when I first shared my art work with them as I am not a trained artist. I knew I could trust my art colleagues and friends with my beloved Sawyer as I shaped the art work to share with others who might also come to love an OES named Sawyer.  - Kristi Moore, my friend and colleague in the English department. I felt that if I was going to share this story with the world I needed my work vetted by an English teacher before its debut. - Adam Veile, my fabulous brother-in-law without whose advice and editing assistance I would have struggled to navigate these waters. I cannot describe how incredibly helpful it is to have the advice of a family member who also happens to be a published author.  - All my friends and family members who took time to peruse this tome and offer feedback to help make this book the best it can be: Kay and Steve Veile, my wonderful mother and father-in-law - John and Stuart Fine, my partners in crime who often enable me to be an instigator :-) - Andrea Cheung, good friend and life-long orchestra chum. - Lucy, Zoey, Darcy, Alex, Caleb, Ryker, and Skylar for being my guinea pigs for the first kid test run of this story.  To all the dogs I've loved before. "Life is a series of dogs." -George Carlin For my parents who have given me a lifetime of wonderful Christmas memories. "Christmastime is here. Happiness and cheer. Fun for all the children call Their favorite time of year. Yuletide by the fireside And joyful memories there." -Lee Mendelson, "Christmastime is Here" Aimee Veile lives with her husband Eric and their Old English Sheepdog, Alfred.  Aimee is in her nineteenth year as an orchestra teacher and her first time around as a writer.  In her spare time she enjoys writing stories about Old English Sheepdogs, practicing her cello, crafting and playing video games.  When she was about five years old, Aimee saw a picture of an Old English Sheepdog in a book about dogs and has been enamored with them ever since.  Aimee hopes you enjoy spending time with her OESs as much as she does!!!
