- ABOUT THE ARTIST -
Otto Ernst - Otto Ernst (1884-1962) was born in 1884 in Swiss canton of Aargau. After his apprenticeship as a graphic designer, he studied in Florence and in Paris where in 1910 he became a student of Eugène Grasset at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière. He worked both in the printing industry and as a freelance painter and graphic designer and travelled extensively throughout Europe, capturing his impressions in his paintings. Ernst’s posters are characterized by a realistic style.
