When I sat down to write this play I wanted to put an adventurous twist on it. Something that would potentially capture the interest of male as well as female actors and audiences. After all, Drama Teachers and Directors from Cleveland to Calcutta are always trying to find ways to engage more young men in their productions.  An earlier work of mine, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES OF THE OLD REPUBLIC had become my most popular play, so I wanted to create something similar...but different. Where I had hinted at elements of "Star Wars" in SNOW WHITE , I thought sending CINDERELLA on an "Indiana Jones" type adventure would be just the trick. The resulting play, CINDERELLA ND THE QUEST FOR THE CRYSTAL PUMP  has turned out to be one of my favorites, and, in fact, is often produced as a follow-up to SNOW WHITE by schools and Theatres across the country. One of the great things about this play, is that it can be produced using children, adults or a mixture of the two as cast members.
