This pepper is most commonly pickled and then used on a variety of sandwiches, the most famous being the “Chicago-style Hotdog”. The peppers themselves are not that big, resembling a tobasco pepper but slightly larger, reaching about 2.5 inches long and provide a tangy zesty flavor to whatever sandwich or dish you add them to. The peppers are hot and turn from green to red when mature. They are referred to as a medium heat pepper, but there is no Scoville rating available currently.
