Collection of Old Farms in Summit, Schoharie County, NY Summit began to be settled in the 1790's, then after clearing trees and building houses farms began to be molded. The 31 farms I highlighted came about if I had or people sent me information or photos. Some farms have more details than others depending on what I could find. Farms are listed alphabetically usually by the last family to operate the farm. Each farm includes location, who owned the land as far back as deeds allowed, photos and mini bios on the residents. If I found a burial place for a person they are usually posted on findagrave.com. There are also tid-bits of farm life from newspapers.
