Colors is a collection of poetry that began as an attempt to deal with the mundane emotional, physical, and spiritual complexities of that often neglected contemporary affliction known as the "Mid-life Crisis." The excitement and immortality of youth has ended and the melancholy reflections of the golden years have not yet begun. Adults are at their most productive and yet from the stress and pressure of children growing up, jobs, and changes in body chemistry, this is a time of great upheaval. Colors is truly a poetic palette meant to paint the middle years in their fullness. The poetry is filled with the raw shades of the power and passion of youth, the stark colors of the obvious confusion of adolescence and the subtle tones of the wisdom of maturity. Colors is a collection of poetry for all ages. Robert Curtis is a novelist and poet. He has published articles in national magazines and poetry in literary journals. He won a national award for journalism and holds a B.A. in English and a M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Arizona State University. He lives in Chandler, Arizona with his family.
