The history of the Communist movement in Kerala is unique in many ways. It evolved from the anti-feudal agitations and anti-colonial movements in Kerala. It is also having its roots in the social reform movements in Kerala society. Proper analysis and study of the history of the communist movement of Kerala is very important. EMS, Kerala''s first Chief Minister, wrote extensively in this regard. His methodology in analysing and studying history gives this book a unique status.
