Lovern King is Professor Emeritus in Culture Studies at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Her interest in cultures has led her to explore over 85 countries in many forms: sailing, RVing, snorkeling, auto camping, home rentals and more. She shares with the reader the joys and challenges of travel that have included situations as diverse as possible prison in communist Hungary to wintering on the French Riviera.
