The choice and arrangement of furniture is what transforms a house into a home, and while much has been written about the classics of the past, it can be harder to identify the qualities that make a modern piece a timeless classic. Demystifying the often confusing world of contemporary furniture, this guide―by two major interior designers―looks at new manufacturing methods and the latest materials, to explain how pieces are made in the 21st-century. Taking a tour of a home room by room, you’ll see how designers are using modern technologies to create stylish, yet extremely functional furniture, and develop the knowledge to make an informed choice and select today’s pieces that are bound to become tomorrow’s collectibles. Sebastian Conran trained in Industrial Design Engineering and owns his own successful design practice. He is a Trustee of the Design Museum and has contributed to design magazines such as Blueprint and Design Week. Mark Bond designs furniture, interiors and exhibitions and runs his own thriving design practice. He studied furniture design as a post-graduate at the Royal College of Art where he met Sebastian Conran. Used Book in Good Condition

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
