Dr. Constance J. Hagedorn, Ph.D.( a.k.a. Dr. Icon) - The Queen of Rhyme, Cursive, and Word Whisperer has over five decades of experience in education, counseling, consulting, and writing. She grew up on a farm in Missouri and knows the value of hard work and perseverance. Her love of children and animals are two major themes in her books. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education (BSE), a Master of Science degree in guidance and counseling K-12 (MSE), and a School Psychological Examiner Certificate K-12, all from Central Missouri State University (CMSU) Warrensburg, Missouri. At the University of Missouri (UMSL) at Saint Louis, Saint Louis, Missouri, she earned a 60 credit hour Advanced Certification Studies (ACS) Certificate for the Elementary School Principalship and Superintendency. While teaching and counseling full time, she pursued and earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in education (Ph.D.) from Saint Louis University (SLU) Saint Louis, Missouri. In addition, she is a Missouri Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and was a graduate school adjunct professor teaching Theories and Principles of School Counseling at Lindenwood University, St. Charles, Missouri. She values the importance of the skill of rhyming and incorporates it in her writing. As a lifelong learner, she currently invests much of her time and energy educating children with special needs in several St. Louis area public school districts. She enjoys crafting, fashion and home interior and designing, thrifting, dancing, and playing the piano. As a former semi-professional dancer and ambassador for the art, dancing became an integral part of her life.
