She is currently an associate professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the School of Health Related Professions in Jackson. Margaret Drake, PhD, OTR/L, ATR-BC, LPAT, FAOTA, attended classes in eight different colleges and universities over the years, preparing herself for different phases of her career and stages of life. She taught in three American universities and in two overseas, one in Saudi Arabia and one in Taiwan. Dr. Drake credits the latter two experiences for preparing her for teaching classes in sociocultural issues as well as writing about cultures in the first two editions of Crafts in Therapy and Rehabilitation. Her two most personally meaningful awards are the FAOTA (Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association) and the Volunteer of the Year Award from Stewpot Community Services Center for the weekly art group she co-led for 8 years with her coauthor, Carol Tubbs. Dr. Drake retired from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, and she currently resides in Volcano, Hawaii. She now writes historical novels about intrepid women who could have lived but were not accorded their proper importance at the time; her first three novels all had occupational therapy heroines. She also assists her niece and her husband in operating their bed and breakfast near Kilauea Volcano National Park Headquarters and is also learning to garden in the rain forest. Dr. Drake tries to live a life simple in material things but rich in things of the mind and spirit. Used Book in Good Condition
