While teaching the logic of the Vulcan way to Romulans eager to reunite with their Vulcan ancestors, Spock and his students are taken hostage by an enemy Romulan spy, and it is up to Picard, with some help from Scott and McCoy, to effect a rescue. 135,000 first printing. The latest Star Trek novel, by one of the most seasoned producers of ST fiction, is aptly titled. Not only do members of both the original and the Next Generation casts appear in it, but it deals with a situation in which both the Romulans and the Vulcans are striving to cross over from their long-standing mutual isolation from and hostility toward each other to some form, at least, of reunification (they were once members of the same race). The story takes place during Jean-Luc Picard's command of the Enterprise but involves Mr. Spock, now a diplomat who is caught up in Romulan factional fighting that leads to his vividly described and nasty incarceration, among other things. Dr. McCoy and engineer Scotty, each of whom may be slowing down but has lost none of his ingenuity, must join forces, unofficially, with Picard and his crew, too, in order to bail out Spock and prevent the reunification effort from coming to a bloody end that would be disastrous for the United Federation of Planets as well as the two cultures directly involved. It's a classic helping of ST adventure (you can almost hear the ST theme, sawed out on schmaltzy violins, welling up between the lines) that ought to please the seemingly endless saga's legions of fans. Roland Green Ambassador Spock continues his mission to unify the Romulan and Vulcan peoples, but is captured by a Romulan spy. Starfleet dispatches its best ship, the U.S.S. Enterprise TM 1701-D, and its most respected captain, Jean-Luc Picard, to secure the release of the ambassador. Ambassador McCoy, now over 140 years old, is also sent to assist in the negotiations. But the situation becomes further complicated when another of Spock's former shipmates, Montgomery "Scotty" Scott confiscates an out-of-service starship and effects his own daring rescue of his friend. How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
