This is the third and final Matty book of the Cul-de-Sac series. The first is Cul-de-Sac: Mop-up for Murder, the second Cul-de-Sac: Mop-up for Malice, and now Cul-de-Sac: The Final Mop-up. Matty (Matilde Maria Lopez Jones McGuire Nava) now lives in the cul-de-sac where she used to clean houses; thus her former employers are her neighbors, which may change their relationships. Of course her being married to Detective Ramon Nava is different now, too. Most important, even though she promised Ramon to retire from sleuthing, her skills are needed when one of the neighbor's twin babies is kidnapped. And Matty cannot ignore the situation when the death of a stranger in the neighborhood is the key to secret human trafficking in a concealed sweatshop in her own Costa Dorada harbor. She must investigate; Clarissa-Belle, wanting material for her novel, urges her to infiltrate the sweatshops. All this she must keep secret from Ramon, which weighs on her conscience. Since Ramon's family has become Matty's, those interactions complicate her decisions. And if these complications weren't enough, Rita's sister Roxie, whom Matty has befriended, seems to be on the make for Ramon.
