Part of the Cozy Mystery Series that’s been described as “a cut above the usual craft-themed cozy!” ( Publishers Weekly ) It was planned to be a fun get-together for area scrapbookers. Instead, it turned into a murder scene. As a new widow, Kiki Lowenstein keeps making adjustments. In this book, she’s finally getting her life back to some version of normal. After all, she loves her job in a local scrapbook store. Her talents are even attracting national recognition. But everything goes badly wrong at a special event that she planned. As she and a room full of crafters watch in horror, Yvonne Gaynor begins to convulse. She’s in anaphylactic shock and her epi-pen is empty! Before a shocked audience, Yvonne drops dead. All eyes turn to Kiki. Everyone knows she and Yvonne were fierce rivals. They hated each other. Now the young widow’s hopes for a new career are dashed as the scrapbooking community points a collective finger of blame at Kiki. What to do? Should Kiki crawl under the table? (Not enough room.) Run far away? (Her car wouldn’t make it.) Change her name and hair color? (Nope. Her newfound fame makes that impossible.) Kiki considers jamming a pencil in her eye. Wouldn’t a quick death be preferable to a slow professional suicide? Sure feels that way. (Good thing her dog still loves her!) In this twisty, page-turner of a cozy mystery, a mom-turned-sleuth is forced to figure out what went seriously wrong. Somebody planned this murder down to the last drop of trouble. Now Kiki, a budding amateur detective, and her dog must figure out whodunnit in this charming mystery filled with crafts and laughs. Can Kiki trust a certain hunky cop who investigated her husband’s murder at the start of this laugh-out-loud cozy mystery series? Maybe. Or maybe not. He has secrets, too. Or maybe this amateur sleuth and her dog will solve crimes by themselves while navigating the surprisingly cut-throat world of scrapbooking rivalries. This book can be read as a stand-alone, although if you skip the others, you’ll miss a lot of the fun! Eager for a Happily Ever After ending? Then this series will delight you. It’s perfect for readers who love Laura Childs, Clare O'Donohue, Elaine Viets, Alexander McCall Smith, Diane Mott Davidson, Brianna Bates, Ellery Adams, Tonya Kappes, Cindy Bell, Lois Winston, and Mollie Cox Bryan. Discover why readers call Kiki their "new best friend" and grab your copy today! I have started the 3rd book "Ink, Red, Dead" and I felt the need to tell you how much I am enjoying this series! I can relate to Kiki so well and your thoughtful comments and descriptive phrases are so spot-on for me. I went through a break up of a second marriage about 16 years ago. Oh how I've grown and conquered since then. I went through a time of adjustment from what I call my "former" life to figuring out what I was going to eat, trying to find creative ways to stretch the food but still enjoy it, pay bills, be there for my son and a hold full-time job and a second, part-time job. At the beginning of this period, OUT OF THE BLUE, by a chance meeting, I adopted the most sweet, gentle, soulful brindle Great Dane. His name was Amadeus Valentino. He became my best friend and confidant. I was blessed to have him in my life for 10 years. The love of a Dane is unlike any other pet I've adopted. As I read this series I am smiling all the time, just knowing Kiki is going to prosper and grow through it all. I love my life, and I've worked hard to get here. This series has had me look back on these past years of growth and remember that through the valleys and trials of life, we are blessed and have the potential for so much growth and happiness. We just need to apply ourselves and never give up. I truly thank you for this wonderful series! ~ Denise Aikens
