Unresolved trauma and cultural norms collide when Brady Barone and his daughter, Allie, move to a small village in New Mexico to escape their burden of loss. They are led to the doorstep of Josephine Laurent, an aging ballerina, who becomes the wellspring of all that was missing in their lives. In some mystical way, Josephine knows why they are there and how to lead them to healing and recovery. Allie shows an interest in dance, and dance becomes her therapy. In the process, Brady and Allie discover that there is more than art and motion when dancing with Josephine. She frees them both from the weight of their guilt and sadness, and in turn, they must find a way to rescue Josephine.
