Amazon reader reviews: "I love the concept of this book - telling the story of an historical figure through the eyes of one of their pets. Since the book is designed for younger elementary children, it is a great introduction to the genre of historical fiction." "Please keep these books coming!" "This is a lovely book, with pretty illustrations and a lot of footnotes. I love the fact that the author did not try to Americanize the language of the era, but instead explained what the word meant in Victorian times." Inspiration struck Vicki Tashman 4 years ago when her daughter graduated from college and moved back home with 2 cats in tow. She imagined the cats belonging to Cleopatra and, wow, the stories they could tell! After researching many people in history, she settled on writing her first book about Thomas Jefferson and his dog, Buzzy. Her 2nd book, "Dash and Victoria Find True Love" is about Queen Victoria and her dog, Dash. Other books in the works are about the Wright Brothers and their dog, Flyer and Benjamin Franklin and his squirrel, Mungo.
