Tom Hanson Photography Photographer Bio My name is Tom Hanson...seriously that's it...Tom Hanson; you can't get more generic than that! But my ability to capture images is well beyond generic - or mundane. I am dedicated to telling a story. To quote the very wise and famous Dr. Seuss, ' Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.' Like snow, those memories fade away unless you capture them. Capturing those memories, telling YOUR story is my passion. My storytelling quest became official at 17 when I rolled up my sleeves and (to my mother's chagrin) turned a 'spare' bathroom in our crowded Cache Valley, Utah home into my dark room. I've moved around a little since that 1977 beginning, but never left my camera or passion for a story behind. For the past 22 years I have lived in and loved Davis County Utah. Some may call me an avid 'hunter' as I have 'shot' everything that moved (and plenty of things that didn't!) My work includes architectural, landscapes, models, action sports, portraits, families and more. Many of these images have graced the walls of family homes, businesses, buses, billboards, and magazines. From the disappointment of defeat to hard won victories; from the first joyful cries of new born baby to the last reverent breaths of life - I have documented some amazing stories along the way! Over the years I've been recognized for my unique approach to elements of color, design, texture and light, but my biggest reward comes from an ability to mix with any class of people. Whether shooting long time friends or new acquaintances, I can get people to loosen up, to laugh, and to actually enjoy the process of 'getting shot!' I always say... 'If it looks good-shoot it!' The most important story you will ever tell is your own - trust me to help you tell it. Kim R.
