Have you ever wanted to go back? Even just a day, to relive a new exciting experience or change a decision you immediately regretted? Because if we only had a second chance, we could do it so much better, right? I'm sure we've all thought that, one way or another. When Tristan Baker goes to sleep after a rather uncomfortable first day of high school, he wakes up somewhere else. A mysterious being behind a wide desk tells him he has been chosen to wield Re:live, a power that gives him a choice every night: move on to the next day, or rewind to the previous morning. After waking up to realize this is more than just a dream, Tristan gets to work to correct his incredibly awkward social life—consisting of a single childhood friend, Lexus Holladay. When a quickly-expanding web of events begins to threaten more than he had ever imagined, Tristan comes to rely on the strength of the mysterious Sarah Lavender, a girl from his class with an uncanny attraction to him and an odd connection to his new power. Now, pulled in two directions and forced to contend with skeletons in the closet, Tristan must find the right path forward when every day is a new destiny. And when a harrowing encounter with an old friend nearly breaks Lexus beyond repair, Tristan starts to wonder if a second chance is really enough. 'Days of Undoing' could be labelled a lot of things: YA Fiction, Urban Fantasy, Romance... but more real than those words, it brings mystery, suspense, emotion, and a healthy dose of comedy to a grounded world and a slice of life. You'll feel at home and immersed in the pages of this book, and the thoughts it provokes are souvenirs to take with you on this journey called life. As this is a poet's first novel, my intent is to convey the thoughts and feelings of the heart directly through words that anyone can understand. I want it to stand out as a timeless work that doesn't concern itself with politics or the zeitgeist, and instead allows us to confront the evils we all experience in our lives and come out on top. At just over 100,000 words, this book isn't much of a commitment of either time or money (I know we don't have a lot of either right now), so consider picking it up. Finishing this book, taking this step, has been a dream come true for me, and it would mean the world if it ends up in the hands of someone who needs it.
