Design: A Business Case challenges you to stimulate innovation in your own organization as an ongoing and integral dialogue between complementary skills–to bridge mind and matter, image and identity . Design thinking is a framework developed to ensure C-suite endorsement of the pursuit of design excellence in all actions undertaken by the organization. Design management is a rigorous and strategically anchored mechanism to capitalize on the investment in design as intellectual capital. And design – as we’ve always known it – is the skills, methods and creative capabilities needed to embody ideas and direction. Design thinking inspires, design management enables, design embodies. This book aims to build the bridges needed to reconcile the three, and to encourage organizational and professional environments in which their combined forces can thrive and reverberate. Brigitte Borja de Mozota is one of the world's most prominent scholars in the domain of design management and author of the reference book Design Management - Using Design to Build Brand Value and Corporate Innovation . Currently, a consultant as well as professor and supervisor of MBA "managing by design" theses, she concentrates on mission-driven projects and to develop tools to help understanding the value of the design industry and design-driven innovation, as well as on leadership challenges in economics. Steinar Valade-Amland has acted as an independent consultant through his own set-up, THREE POINT ZERO, working for a wide range of private sector companies, NGOs and public sector organizations, since he stepped down after twelve years as CEO of the Association of Danish Designers in 2012. He has written numerous articles to trade magazines, contributed to several books and played an active role in processes focusing on design policy, design practice and design education - in particular on a European level.
