My warm welcome and gratitude for reading this book I kept the name of this book as ‘Design Calculations in Electrical MEP Systems for Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Buildings (3rd Edition)’. When I was teaching electrical MEP design to my students, I realised that they were experiencing two difficulties. They felt the electrical area was like an ocean. It has a lot of concepts and calculations. Another one is that they also felt the basic concepts couldn’t be imagined. I accept both difficulties as a teacher. Because all students are facing these two problems while studying electrical engineering. But I gave assurance that I would overcome these difficulties through my easy way of teaching. I first consolidated the electrical design concepts into 17 topics and gave notes that are very essential to know. This will help to remind my students that electrical MEP design is not an ocean, but it is also like a well. At the same time, I decided to show some images and animations for easy understanding of the concepts. At that time, they felt happy, enjoyed the learning, and understood the concepts very well. Based on their feedback and suggestions from the 2nd edition, I created this third edition of this book to make electrical design as simple as possible for electrical scholars around the world. It has basic concepts, definitions, codes and standards, design procedures, and step-by-step calculations using several examples. Approximately, the book has 17 main topics in electrical design, 137 sub-topics, 45 tables, 210 illustrated figures, and a list of references at the end. I hope you also enjoy these study materials.
