Connection method and steps:
-First, install the CD or the downloaded ScanTool(dot)net software.
-Second, connect the OBD-
cable to the ODB-II interface of the vehicle.
-Third, connect the OBD-II cable to the ELM327. At this time, the power light will be on and the ODB TX/RX light will flash, indicating that the connection is normal.
-Fourth, connect the ELM327 to the computer with a USB cable. At this point, the computer will prompt that new hardware has been discovered. Follow the computer's prompts to install the USB driver from the CD or downloaded from the network. Enter the "Device Manager" of your computer and click on the port. You will find the newly installed hardware "USB SerialPort". Note down the COM number on the right. This COM number will be used in the next software Settings.
-Finally, start the ScanTool(dot)net software. Open the ScanTool(dot)netv1.13 forwindows program, select the options item, and choose the COM number that you noted down in the previous step.
