Book includes history of the Torpedo area, the sand quarries, the sand plant, and its railroad. Also includes biographies of many of the employees of these companies. Includes over 80 photos & maps. David K. Peterson is a High School and Community College Biology Instructor. Besides an avid interest in railroads & history, he has also worked as a park ranger and a steam locomotive fireman. He is an active hiker and traveler, as well as a Commercial Pilot, and owns both a World War II North American T-6 and a Russian Yak 18. He has flown as co-pilot for the Collings Foundation's B-17 and B-24. He resides in Livermore, California with his wife Naomi & two cats. This is his first book.
