Although the Lord commanded the saints to update the Doctrine & Covenants from time to time, very few additions have been made to our canon of revelations in nearly 200 years. This volume documents 65 written revelations that Joseph Smith left behind but did not include in the 1844 D&C. It documents an additional 22 revelations that were recorded by contemporary saints but that were not written down by Joseph Smith himself. While not included in this volume, nearly 100 more revelations were received, recorded, and preserved as revelations - these were given to early apostles and succeeding presidents of the church. These range from benign administrative issues to fascinating doctrinal expositions. Nevertheless, very few of these were published in later editions of the D&C. Although we have some hints as to why some revelations were not canonized during Joseph Smith’s lifetime, we have no conclusive method of answering that question. Nevertheless, some saints will find these uncanonized revelations of Joseph Smith to be of great value and historians of Mormonism and Mormon books will find this resource similarly invaluable. This is part of a larger Joseph Smith Version (JSV) D&C and triple combination. This particular volume has been slightly modified to stand as an independent work.
