DREADNOUGHTS & BATTLECRUISERS: CAPTAIN'S EDITION is an introductory game of tactical World War I naval combat between individual ships. It serves as an inexpensive introduction to the D&B system, but is a complete game in and of itself. Besides rules and optional rules, this 64-page edition contains 140 1/3000 scale ship facsimile counters from Great Britain, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, and Russia--battleships, battlecruisers, armored cruisers, light cruisers, and armed merchant cruisers--each rated in a variety of categories (firepower, speed, armor, etc.). This is a miniatrures rules system, where you maneuver your fleets on the floor (or large table top) to play scenarios. This edition includes the D&B Solitaire Variant , which allows you to play the game on your own. The game is designed to stress high playability along with authenticity, with a dozen scenarios included, with many more actual and hypothetical encounters you can create on your own. ( NOTE: If you own D&B: High Seas Deluxe Edition , you already have everything that is in this Captain's Edition, except many more ships, nationalities, scenarios, and in full color book format instead of black & white.)
