Collects Catacomb of Torment #1–4 . “Catacomb of Torment is a bloody, brilliant, and brutal return to form. Oni-Lion Forge and the incredible team of creators have successfully resurrected the spirit of EC comics for a modern audience while honoring its legacy. The stories are sharp, the art is fantastic, and the twists are as satisfyingly grim as ever. This is not just a comic; it’s an experience. It’s a declaration that true horror never dies.” ― Comic Book Addicts “An intense, entertaining and thrilling story with a great message and fantastically detailed art throughout.” ― Superpowered Fancast “Another new title in the tradition of classic EC horror comics - and this one does not disappoint.” ― Pop Culture Podium “The resurgence of the iconic EC Comics brand is a treat for all horror fans, and Oni Press has been diligently releasing a slew of different series and issues that bring the best talents in comics to the darkest stories fit to print.” ― Macabre Daily “Oni Press has found resounding success in the resurrection of EC Horror, leading to new anthologies and series that hope to further the legacy of the legendary William Gaines and his groundbreaking work…. Catacomb of Torment will feature a new sadistic host, cut from the same cloth as the previous ones, called The Tormentor. This one seems like he can get a bit too excited when it comes to human anatomy. To be fair, though, which of these ghastly EC hosts doesn’t look like they’d be willing to carve out a little play time here and there with the odd dismembered limb. I’d imagine it’s a requirement to qualify as an EC horror host. Aren’t horror anthologies the perfect summer companions? As reading lists and book influencers try to get you started on five-book romantasy series, a good shot of terror can make you feel the need to add some darkness to that summer sunshine. Maybe even motivate a complete horror takeover of the season. Catacomb of Torment aims to do precisely that.” ― Comics Beat John Arcudi is an American comic book writer best known for his work on The Mask and B.P.R.D., and his series Major Bummer.
