Twelve year old Andrew and Emme go with their little sister, three year old Abigail to help a small village struggling with fever and death. They help the villagers identify the cause of their illnesses and how to treat those affected. They work with the villagers in many ways, flying the large birds to help them search for a young boy missing from his home. As they fly, Emme falls from the back of her eagle and is lost. Andrew and Abigail fly into the clouds and become separated. They are afraid and want to be back together.
