Anyone who visited the Florida's Natural Grove House this week might have run into someone they would have recognized immediately. His is a face nearly everyone has seen. And Monday morning, Jack Harris was signing books at the Grove House, accompanied by his wife, Joy. Harris, a Tampa Bay area TV and radio personality, was the anchor of "Harris and Company," a wide ranging broadcast on Channel 44 in the 1990's, often taped at Busch Gardens. This was followed by a stint on ABC television's Action News. His current gig is the top rated radio show in Tampa Bay called "A.M. Tampa Bay," airing daily from 5 to 9 a.m. on 970 WFLA. Anchored by Harris and Tedd Webb, Harris describes it as a "News/Talk Show, where we hit on a number of controversial topics and people can call and weigh in. Kind of like sitting around in a bar, talking about the issues." Visitors to the Florida's Natural Visitors' Center were treated to a visit with the Harris couple, who were signing copies of the book they wrote together, "Easy-Breezy Florida Cooking," and Jack's solo publication "Unwrapped: Ruminations, Recipes and Robust Raillery." His book is a potpourri of observations, experiences and photos, peppered with his favorite recipes. Harris and his wife wrote "Easy-Breezy" together, and many of the recipes feature Florida Citrus. Samples of Lemon Tea Cookies and Oatmeal Bars Florida Style were available at the signing table. Harris said there is a chance he may take on a new broadcast venture in the future, but right now he is enjoying the camaraderie of the radio show. --Mary Cannaday, The Lake Wales News (April 6, 2011) Used Book in Good Condition
