My wife and I first visited the United States of America in 2003 during the mid-summer break from Cukurova University in Turkey. En route to visit our children living in Boston, we also spent a week in England. During our time in America, we saw many sights, including New York City, the Statue of Liberty, and the Twin Towers before their tragic destruction. We even ascended to the top of the Twin Towers and captured photographs. One weekend, we traveled North to the Canadian border to witness the majesty of Niagara Falls. This initial Anglo-American journey was previously published as an e-book titled “The First Anglo-American Journey,” which is available on Amazon. Since that first trip, we have returned to America twice, each visit lasting two to three months. We used these opportunities to explore significant parts of the United States, a country more than five times the area of our homeland. The experiences and sights from our second visit form the subject of this book. We explored cities such as Boston, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C each holding a unique place in the history of the United States – a nation founded by immigrants from Europe. This book aims to be more than just a travelogue. I have endeavoured to include substantial historical and socio-cultural information alongside selected photographs. I hope that those who are interested will read it and find it engaging. If you have any valuable comments, please feel free to share them with me via e-mail.
