I have no tears left after reading Ella's journal and her novel which were left addressed to me in a large sealed brown envelope and placed in the locked drawer of her little antique desk. This desk and her favorite wing-back chair she left to me in her last Will and Testament. My only wish was that she had been in my life much longer. I am now in possession of her ashes and those of Robert. One day Jean-François and I will scatter them together in the Loch beside the Inn in Scotland.
