This book is a chronological walk through the book of Revelation. The first three chapters are a study of Jesus’ messages to seven churches during the church age. In 4:1 John saw a door standing open into heaven, and a voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place hereafter.” John’s calling up to heaven coincides with the rapture of the church where Jesus comes with angels and calls us up to heaven. The next chapters through 19:10 are prophecies of things that will happen in heaven and on earth. In 12:7 Satan and fallen angels will be thrown out of heaven, and they will do great damage on earth. God will send great plagues to get people to repent, but most will not repent. Rev. 9:10 says, “And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues still did not repent.” Those people who repent will die as martyrs. John saw “under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.” 6:9 God will avenge their blood after they all come up and give them resurrection bodies like the church and Old Testament saints will get at the rapture. The tribulation period will come to an end when Jesus comes riding on a white horse followed by the armies of heaven. 19:11-21 Then he will destroys his enemies. An angel will chain Satan and throw him into the Abyss. 20:1-3 With that the millennial reign of Christ will be usurered in. In 20:11 there is the Great White Throne Judgment. Those not found written in the book of life will be cast into hell with Satan and fallen angels. In 21:1 the New Jerusalem will come down from heaven and settle on the earth. It is the eternal home of God’s people and good angels. At the end of the book some very stern warnings are given to those who manipulate the book of Revelation. We are to read it and take it seriously. I delayed writing for a time because of those stern warning, but then I picked up courage and began writing praying that I would always tell the truth.
