The mighty United States has been destroyed, not by a rogue nation detonating a nuclear warhead or by Mother Natures spectacular destructive events, the U.S. brought itself down by the erratic spending, political corruption and always being apart of military conflicts in the world where they shouldn't be. One by one foreign nations began to shut off trade and travel to the U.S. knowing it could never pay off its debt. Americans were outraged at the government for breaking promises and spending money they did not have. Panic set in as soon as foreign countries closed their borders and riots ensued in major U.S. cities. This time they wouldn't end. The police force failed throughout all of the U.S. and were overrun by gangs and newly banded factions made of the citizens they were sworn to protect. Mass murders and genocide by these new rogue leaders wiped out over 95% of the population. Those who didn't follow their exact orders were executed and everyone wanted a piece of power. People fled to the Rocky Mountains and Midwest to avoid being caught by the gangs. No one was safe. For Jack, Rachel and Ashley, this nightmare is only the beginning of a life without reliable electricity, vehicles, fresh food and the American Dream. Traveling from the Midwest to the East Coast is no easy task for the family of three. Death awaits in many forms along the way and one slip up could end their trek and all hope of finding a safe haven. Enter the dystopian future of the United States set around the year 2034, Jack and Rachel have left their home with their 8 year old daughter Ashley in an attempt to find the East Coast to leave the U.S. once and for all. The trek goes smooth until they reach the mountains of West Virginia where things go from bad to worse in an instant.
