Prequel to the Hexa Chronicles Nearing the age of thirteen, Ethan McGathlin is a boy with no measurable amount of physical strength. He does have a brave heart and learns this when, alone, he enters a dark cave to meet Drekore; a dwarven prophet with a magic wielding staff. Although fascinated by the prophet’s stories about the Norse Gods, Ethan is terrified when he learns that he has been chosen by them to travel to Hel where he must retrieve a special golden hexagon. With the aid of his best friend Beck Trainer, Ethan embarks on a fated journey where he battles a large steely skeleton named Trym. Barely escaping Hel with his life, Ethan has difficulty swallowing his last task. He must bring the hexagon to its final destination. If he refuses, darkness will consume the world.
