Follow a girl and her dog on a journey along city streets and nature trails as they learn that there’s music all around in everyday sounds—a symphony waiting to be heard. When morning comes, the sounds stretch awake. There is music in everything. Raindrops, footsteps, birds, breeze, and trees. Can you hear it? Join a girl and her dog on their day spent collecting sounds. They whirr past the community fountain, whizz up to a vista point, and whoosh through the bustle of city streets to a final forest crescendo. Camouflaged in the artwork are nine instruments and numerous musical notations. Pops of color highlight the unexpected moments, creatures, and places where music hides in plain sight. Here, in this book. There, on the sidewalk. Overhead, in the distance. Look closely . . . Everything is music . . . to inspire your own tune. ★ "A revelatory, beguiling celebration of sound and observation, inviting readers to listen as an act of imagination—and to recognize the music already woven through their days.” — Booklist , STARRED REVIEW ★ "Provides an ideal tool for introducing young people to musical instruments and for developing visual identification skills.” — Horn Book , STARRED REVIEW ★ "This succinct story showing the music of daily sounds pulls readers in with intriguing drawings.” — School Library Journal , STARRED REVIEW "A bicycle ride serves as an introduction to the symphony of life….an aesthetically elegant celebration of auditory pleasures.” — Kirkus Reviews ★ "A book meant for slowing down, encourages young listeners to attune themselves to sound, shape, and wonder….A reflective and imaginative invitation to listen more closely, Everything Is Music offers a picture book experience that resonates long after the final page.” — Julie Danielson, Shelf Awareness Miran Park is a picture book author and illustrator.
