This second edition of Evolution, Science and Judaism, is a substantially enlarged version of the first edition, first published May 2000 and currently out of print. The book now contains an unusually great number of citations, presenting the reader with statements and opinions from outstanding scientists about the issues at stake; in particular opinions that harmonize well with the general trend of this book. During the twentieth century, myriads were spellbound by the theory of Evolution a religion of the vogue intellectual, which precluded the least semblance of divine design. The theory today more so than ever stands tottering on a sinking foundation. Now, with its discrediting, the door is opened to appreciate the solid and untarnished historical position of Judaism the original creation of our universe and the divine programming of all living species. Isaac Joseph Brandstädter, the indisputably sole author of this book, died on Sept 8, 2010, in Jerusalem, at the age of 88. He was a distinguished scientist who belonged to two worlds the world of science, and the world of Torah. This powerful combination contributes to the major significance of Evolution, Science and Judaism. Mr. Brandstädter was born in 1922 in Frankfurt a/M, Germany, and educated at the Samson Raphael Hirsch Realschule there between the years 1928 -38. He continued his Torah education at the Breuer Yeshiva (Frankfurt a/M) and Heide (Antwerp) during the years 1938-40. Pursuing university studies in physics at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem , he received a M.Sc. degree in 1965. He was engaged in the Physical Chemistry Department of the Hebrew University until 1969. During 1969-79 Mr. Brandstädter was employed by the Israel Atomic Energy Commission.
