This book tells the history of the Stauffeneggers from Zäziwil in the canton of Bern in Switzerland and is divided into two parts: In the first part of the book, you will find information about the place of origin Zäziwil and about our earliest ancestors. Further chapters are devoted to the possible origins of our ancestors and the origin of our family name. The reader also learns how the various family names came about. The second part of the book presents the still flourishing branches of our family, with pedigree charts, photos, and many interesting family stories. The two branches of the brothers who emigrated to America are also presented and described. Finally, the question of our family coat of arms is answered.
