This is a fiberglass cloth tape, made with E-Glass and is great for repairs or reinforcing corners, seams, and edges, or smaller applications including winding. It is a mesh joint plain weave tape. E-Glass is alumino-borosilicate glass and it’s alkali free. 

The reason it’s commonly known as a tape is that it is a narrow woven fiberglass cloth, but it does not contain an adhesive backing.
