The unthinkable has happened. The Rot, the deadly virus that turns people into flesh-eating monsters, has passed to animals and has been detected in the Rocky Mountain Free Zone. The government, determined to prevent another catastrophic outbreak, has instituted Aggressive Containment, a Stop-at-Nothing approach to wiping out all contaminated subjects and areas. Only the Free Zone isn't just populated by animals, it is also full of people, refugees who fled the Great Outbreak all those years ago, never to return to society. The residents and settlements of the Rocky Mountain Free Zone have been noticing the planes, hearing the booms, and seeing the smoke for a while, and the enigmatic Wizard, an eccentric mountain man, has sought out Moreland and Maddie’s help to take care of an injured boy and to try to determine what exactly is happening. A tragic, worst-case scenario gets worse and worse, as it seems as if the government is interested in not just containing the virus, but reclaiming the Free Zone itself. Led by a power-hungry politician named Ashcroft, aided by a mercenary named Huntley, the government starts exterminating the virus and anything else that stands in their way while Moreland and Maddie frantically struggle to get the survivors to the town before it's too late. Fire From Above represents the next chapter in the Hostile World universe, bringing back beloved characters and introducing new heroes and villains.
