When living on a horse rescue farm, it's hard not to get attached to a horse before it's adopted out. But Delilah has. To Firefly, the spunky chestnut mare she's trained. Unable to bear saying goodbye to her equine friend, she acts without thinking and steals her away the night before she's due to leave. They set out alone into the vast Wyoming wilderness, unsure of where they're going. As if facing a drought, Firefly's disappearance, and the snarky attitude of Phoenix, her new-found "frenemy" wasn't enough, Delilah needs to learn that the threat of wild animals and becoming lost are not nearly as bad as the gravity of her impulsive decision. And she needs to realize it soon before things go up in flames. A story inspired by nature and horses that touches on life's changes, friendship, and the unbreakable bond between horse and human.
