One more page turns into five, then ten, and then... whoops, you've finished it. And the characters? Jax is a man after my own heart, with wry quips, fierce protectiveness, and healing from a motorcycle accident that shook his confidence. Jax and Allison are fire and gasoline, but for a blaze to warm yourself over. Firefly contains more of this endearing and exasperating small town, a lovable family, banter, and sultry romance that readers of the first book in the Lancaster series will love. Starting book two was bittersweet for me, because I thought for sure nothing could replace Sam and Blake in my heart. But as I sat down and started writing this book, I became obsessed with Jackson Lancaster and his loveable, sarcastic nature. And the more I wrote him, the more Sawyer from Lost slipped into my head. I can't even replace it now. But thank you, Josh Holloway, for being a huge inspiration for how I wrote this character. He's my baby boy, and I feel like I'm overprotective of him now. Writing Allison was difficult for me at first because she wasn't in book one, and it took me forever to find her voice and welcome her into the family. She felt like an outsider, and I guess that worked for her because she truly was an outsider coming into this small town and even I had to fully accept her into the Lancaster family by the end. Before this book, I thought I preferred the friends to lovers trope. After all, that's how I found my happily ever after, but Jackson and Allison quickly became a place of joy for me. With their snippy banter and sarcastic quips floating back and forth like a tennis match, they were easy to fall in love with.
