Together, they sharpen their table manners skills, uplift, gently guide and correct each other when needed. Whether they are dining together, switching between English and French languages, or mastering different English dialects, these friends embark on a journey of discovery. They confidently embody the essence of multicultural harmony - the epitome of global citizenship. Dera is a vibrant bilingual teenager who has lived across several Western countries. Every day, she gracefully balances her African heritage with Western influences, navigating the complexities of multicultural life, while radiating politeness, poise, and polished manners. Kelechi Anselem-Okorie is an educator, etiquette coach and a Human Resource Generalist whose experience spans 3 continents. Helping young people build confidence through manners, social graces, and cultural awareness is her favorite pastime. Following the completion of a certificate program in Human Resource Management at the University of California Los Angeles, USA, she made the decision to transition her career to Early Childhood Education, having worked as an administrator in the education sector and directly with children as an Afterschool club coach. To pursue this passion, she returned to college to study Early Childhood Education at El Camino College, Torrance, California. Her commitment to nurturing well-rounded, courteous youth inspired the creation of the Mirrors and Manners series, beginning with the debut novel, Food, Friends and Finesse. Kelechi holds a B.A. in French from Imo State University, Nigeria and an M.Sc. in Human Resource Management from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. She currently lives in Manhattan Beach, California with her husband and 2 children.
