The adapter allows TTL (Through-The-Lens) metering, and when using a lens with the adapter, the camera body should be set to either manual exposure or aperture priority mode. Automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operated with using this adapter There is no electrical contacts in the adapter ring. Exposure and focus has to be adjusted manually. If Nikon lens does not have a manual Aperture Control ring, it will stop down to its smallest f/stop by default.
