Frankie Stein comes into the world on a bright, sunny day. He’s not at all like his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank N. Stein. They’re scary looking. He’s cute. They try to make him look like them. They can’t. But he does end up being scary―just in his own way! Kevan Atteberry’s digital illustrations lend a hand to this family-friendly story perfect for a Halloween read aloud. Author Lola M. Schaefer has written books on many subjects for all different ages, including Mittens (My First I Can Read Book) , An Island Grows , and Arrowhawk . She enjoys visiting schools and sharing her enthusiasm for writing and reading. She lives in the mountains of north Georgia with her husband Ted. Illustrator Kevan Atteberry has been drawing since he was young. Besides doing artwork for books, he has contributed to magazines, greeting cards, and games. He lives in the rainy Pacific Northwest, where he dreams of sunnier times. He likes crows, Halloween, and a really good pear.
