Soft aspen bedding with a natural paper backing makes it harder for hens to kick out of the nests and cushions eggs for less breakage. I started using aspen nesting pads in my chickens' nesting boxes a couple of years ago and LOVED them so much, I decided to team up with the manufacturer to make them available to you. The aspen curls help to prevent egg breakage. The kraft paper backing helps the pads keep their shape, prevents the hens from kicking the nesting material out of the boxes, and makes for easy clean-up and replacement. Bonus! The whole thing will decompose in your compost pile. Plus there's no dust. The pads don't need to be changed out very often at all. I just take them out, shake them out, or pull out any soiled nesting material, refluff them and put them back in the boxes. If they get dirty or poopy, it's so easy to just remove the soiled bedding. They're nice and thick so no need to replace the whole pad. They fit all standard nesting boxes and are also great for chick brooders too! Compostable and biodegradable, natural and long lasting. Sold in a pack of 6 with a FREE 2oz. sample of Coop Confetti nesting herbs. REMEMBER.... Chickens HATE change! So when you first put these pads in the nest, they'll likely be curious (and suspicious) and kick them around, but once they get used to them, you will find that the pads last longer and stay fresher than other traditional nesting materials. They're easy to pull out, shake off and replace... and can be composted when they need to be changed. I only replace mine every few months.
