I started combining the watercolor painting with the writing to try to teach the children about loving and caring for people and animals. I wanted them to read a story about helping a little animal, a baby duckling, and realize how wonderful the outcome can be when a ducking life was saved. The story is about a chipmunk named Cha Cha that was very alert and noticed a ducking that was left behind by it's Mother in the reeds. Cha Cha watched the duckling and helped it when it came ashore. She stayed with the duck, named him Rocky, until he was all grown up. The end of the book shows, the chipmunk seeing Rocky, a beautiful Mallard duck, all grown up with his mate and family. To me it shows the children how important it is to save a life of a little duckling.
