Frozen Echoes is a collection of haunting Christmas stories which delve into the darker side of the holiday season and the winter time. Yuletide myth is featured heavily throughout this collection. Stories and poems within the book open the heavy door of winter and offer something creepy to read on long cold nights when the roads are icy and the fires are lit. Stories feature Indiana rural locations in the Southern area of the state, winter weather, creatures and apparitions. Vampires, a Christmas Unicorn, dream memory and childhood inspiration are all to be experienced in the stories in this book. Authors Maria Barnard and Jacob Drake are lifelong friends and both spent most of their childhoods in Indiana. Maria's stories are inspired by friendship, yuletide lore, the magic of the natural world (see Before They Come Home), myth, folklore and the hills, hollows and people of southern Indiana. Jacob's story was inspired by a recurring childhood dream and his love of myth, horror and magic.
