DJ is a talented high school football player whose biggest dream is to play for the Baltimore Ravens. But his future on the team is at risk—he’s failing history class, and unless he brings his grade up, he’ll be benched. When his teacher assigns a Black History Month project as a last chance to improve, DJ shrugs it off, convinced that history has nothing to do with his life. Frustrated and uninterested, he falls asleep at his desk. In his sleep, DJ is swept into a vivid journey through time. Suddenly, he finds himself living through key moments in African American history. He witnesses the courage of Harriet Tubman guiding others to freedom, feels the tension of the Civil Rights Movement, and stands alongside trailblazers like Jackie Robinson breaking barriers in sports. Each experience is intense and disorienting—DJ feels lost, afraid, and overwhelmed by the struggles and triumphs of those who came before him. As DJ moves through these pivotal events, his perspective begins to shift. He starts to understand the sacrifices made by generations past and the strength it took to fight for justice and equality. By the time he wakes up, DJ is changed. He returns to his classroom with a new sense of pride and responsibility, eager to share what he’s learned. History, he realizes, isn’t just something in textbooks—it’s alive within him and his generation, shaping who he is and who he can become.

How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
