This makes GREAT seed-heads for birds...I feed a LOT of wild birds daily..I've been doing this for years..I enjoy seeing the many different species of birds that come to eat the seeds...I've even had parakeets that have escaped to come and eat..... German Millet (Foxtail Millet)
German Millet, also known as Manta, Siberian, Foxtail, American, or Finch Millet, this annual does well on more than average moisture. Small seed makes excellent feed for waterfowl, upland birds, songbirds and also used extensively for caged birds. German millet is used as a single-cut, short-season hay millet with no re-growth after cutting. Excellent protein and drought tolerance. Has a drooping “foxtail-like” seed head that holds its seed longer than proso millet. Good drought seed. Good for quail and pheasant. German Millet is also used for food plots, dove fields, erosion control and exotic bird feed.Planting Depth: 1/4-1/2 inch
